Georgia football wide receiver was arrested for careless driving.
A Georgia football wide receiver was detained early Saturday on two driving-related counts.
Sacovie White, a freshman, was charged with reckless driving and “one way roadway” after being stopped by Athens-Clarke County police.
He was booked into the Clarke County Jail at 3:04 a.m. Saturday and released an hour later on $26 bail, according to the jail’s online booking log.
White is the second Georgia football player arrested in Athens in the previous two months for reckless driving.
Running back Trevor Etienne was also charged with DUI/alcohol and failing to maintain lane on March 24. He could be sidelined for the season opener against Clemson due to the DUI.

Yet another University of Georgia athlete on the football team was arrested for reckless driving on Sunday. The initial details of what happened don’t quite compare to prior incidents.
According to the Athens-Clarke County jail website, wide receiver Sacovie White was arrested on two misdemeanor charges. One is listed as “reckless driving.” The other is listed as “one-way roadway.”
The 19-year-old freshman was booked into the jail at 3:04 a.m. He posted bond of just $26 within 20 minutes of his arrival. White was released exactly one hour after his booking at 4:04 a.m.
