Johnson, who was before listed as the No. 141 talent in the country, is now ranked No. 139 after moving up two spots. He is Arizona’s No. 8 prospect and the 13th best point guard in the class. Nevertheless, Johnson’s unbelievable dedication to Oklahoma State Basketball gives Lutz a competitive advantage in recruiting and roster construction coming autumn.

Oklahoma State Basketball to retain Scott Sutton, hire Jeremy Cox as final assistant coach
STILLWATER The Oklahoman has reported that Steve Lutz, the new men’s basketball coach at Oklahoma State, will keep Scott Sutton on staff. Sutton’s precise position on the staff is still up in the air, the Tulsa World reported first. Scott Sutton, the son of the late great Cowboys coach Eddie Sutton, has worked at OSU since 2017 in a variety of roles, primarily as Mike Boynton’s assistant. Before going into coaching, Scott Sutton was a player for his father at Oklahoma State from 1992 to 1994. From 1999 until 2017, he enjoyed great success in his role as head coach at Oral Roberts.
On Monday, OSU also revealed that Jeremy Cox, an assistant from UTEP who has served as a head coach for many programmes, will be joining the Cowboys as an assistant. Twenty-five years ago, Lutz worked as Cox’s assistant at Garden City Community College, one of his first jobs.
With Cox, Keiton Page, Mike Ekanum, Robert Guster, and associate head coach James Miller, Lutz now has a full coaching staff of five.
Former Oklahoma State Basketball Forward Declares For NBA Draft
After spending three seasons at High Point, John-Michael Wright transferred to Oklahoma State in advance of the 2022–2023 college basketball season, where he joined the Cowboys.
Before joining the Cowboys, Wright spent three seasons averaging 17.4 points per game with High Point. In his final two seasons, he averaged 9.3 points per game. Head coach Mike Boynton guided him for two seasons before he was removed of his responsibilities this offseason.
Wright made the transition from college to professional basketball by declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft after his NCAA eligibility ran out.
“I am grateful to the High Point University community for the wonderful experiences I had there. I want to express my gratitude to Tubby Smith for his assistance over the first three years of my academic experience. Wright posted on social media, “I am grateful to Coach Mike and the Oklahoma State University community for welcoming me these past two years.” It’s time for me to embark on my next adventure. Having stated that, I intend to continue my basketball career and will be declaring for the NBA Draft.”
NBA front offices and scouts conduct due diligence. Wright will draw attention as a result. Though the Cowboys finished the previous season with a 12–20 record, Wright has produced some amazing basketball in Stillwater. Being a fantastic role player, he will undoubtedly end up in some form on a professional basketball team.
Wright is not just a good basketball player but also a stand-up person who supports the Oklahoma State team. Wright attended the press conference, even asking a question, when the show fired Boynton and brought in Steve Lutz. He brought up a subject with Lutz, inquiring as to the team’s future plans and if they would be open and honest with players on their possible role on the team.
