Texas defeats Oklahoma State in the Big 12 championship game to strengthen their case for the College Football Playoffs.
Texas will go out of the Big 12 the same way it came in as a winner. In the Big 12 title game on Saturday, No. 7 easily defeated No. 19 Oklahoma State 49-21 behind a touchdown pass from Quinn Ewers, who completed the pass for 452 yards and four touchdowns. The Big 12 title is Texas’ fourth. In 1996, the Longhorns took home the league’s first championship. They repeated as champions in 2005 and 2009.
The Southeastern Conference will take over for Texas in the next season. “I understand it has taken a while to happen. Coach Steve Sarkisian, in his third year, remarked, “Everyone’s been starving for this championship.” “To get it in our Big 12 championship game, I hope everyone appreciates it as much as we do.”
During the post-game press conference, Sarkisian waved both of his arms in an attempt to stop the jeers directed at Yormark. Prior to the season, Yormark had openly supported the Longhorns who, along with Oklahoma, would play in the SEC when addressing a group of Texas Tech fans.

With a smile, Yormark remarked, “It’s all good, it’s all good.” “A fantastic season for the Longhorns of Texas.” It’s an honour to award the trophy to Sarkisian and his squad, the commissioner said, adding, “You guys with today’s dominating performance deserve a ticket to the CFP for sure. 28-point victory at AT&T Stadium also maintains them in the running for a College Football Playoff berth. When the participants for the semifinal games hosted by the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl are announced by the CFP committee on Sunday, the Longhorns will find out if they will be able to play.

Together, Kendrick Marshall and La’Zavion Lee, who have been a team since pop Warner to the Friday Night Lights, are now bringing their talents to the collegiate level.
“Seeing myself going to the next level and doing things that I didn’t see myself doing, and give myself another chance to play ball again, what I love,” Lee stated.
The two most recent pledges College Football are Marshall and Lee. This past season, the two of them served as the cornerstones of a formidable Athens defence, with Marshall earning honourable mention as a defensive lineman and Lee being nominated to the All-District first team as a cornerback.
They both played together as children growing up in East Texas, developing the kinds of abilities that the Texas College football programme seeks.
“What we aim to do is to develop our East Texas squad. East Texas is a football hotbed, so it’s fantastic for us to be able to visit a school like Athens and find two excellent players who will support our programme,” Texas College director of sports Randy Butler said.
Neither of these young guys had an easy road. Lee has always alternated between his love of track and football, and Marshall only started playing varsity football this past season. But in the end, their journeys brought them to the Steers.
“At initially, it was difficult for me; I had no idea that I would succeed at football. My next course of action was to simply start working. I’ll give it everything I’ve got, though, since I have another chance to play,” Lee remarked.
